Cocktail Attire. Formal & elegant — but summer-friendly!
We’d love for everyone to dress up in a way that feels stylish yet relaxed, perfect for a warm late-summer celebration.
Style inspiration:
Long, flowing dresses in breathable fabrics
Elegant cuts and soft silhouettes
Linen suits, crisp shirts, and polished shoes (comfortable enough for a stroll on grass)
Colour guide:
We’re encouraging block colours over prints or patterns.
Go for simple, elegant tones that harmonise together - such as earthy browns, sage greens, ocean blues, deep wine reds — anything inspired by the garden.
Let’s keep it cool, classy, and comfortable as we celebrate under the sun (hopefully).

The Ceremony - please request a parking space on our RSVP form so that we can allocate the parking at Waldron accordingly.
The Reception - as our reception is at The Star pub in Alfriston, there is village parking available at ‘The Willows’ parking lot. This is £8 for 24 hours.

We’ll be arranging transport for those of you who need it.
The bus will go from The Star in Alfriston at 1pm, to the ceremony and back to The Star for the reception at 3pm.

We are working with The Star to create a seating plan so that the team is aware of all allergens and dietary requirements based on where you are sitting.

The Star, Alfriston [this is where we are having our reception]
Wingrove House, Alfriston
The Alfriston, Alfriston
Alfriston Cabins, Alfriston
Premier Inn, Polegate

During the ceremony we’ll request that it’s a phone-free zone, so that we can all be in the moment. We have hired a photographer and videographer who will be working hard to capture all of the special moments. So you don’t need to worry about capturing anything during the ceremony. We want you to be able to switch off and enjoy yourself!
We’d love you to take photos during the rest of the day if you’d like to. We’ll share a QR code where you can upload any photos you capture.
Following our wedding we’ll share the photos and videos with you all.
-
Our ceremony will be at Roserai House. There will be a cloakroom available here.
Arrival is by 1:30pm, so please make yourself comfortable before the ceremony starts at 2:00pm.
-
We’ll dance in the rain!
We have plans for if it rains. The ceremony and the reception will be in the same venues, rain or shine. We’ll just move inside if necessary.
